I ordered a 15" MBP (:D) with 4GB of RAM. I also ordered 8GB of RAM to put in it from Newegg. I'm wondering if I can replace the 2GB of RAM in my old Late 2008 15" MBP with the memory from the new computer to increase the old laptop's resale value. It seems to be the same form factor, but the new memory is PC3-10600 DDR3 1333 and the old memory is PC3-8500 DDR3 1066 MHz. Does that affect compatibility? Thanks!

What's the format of the movie? AVI? MPG? You may need to examine the formats of both the soundtrack and videotrack, to see if the video requires a special codec to play.

What is blank screen mode? I don't run mine in screensaver mode, I turn it on and set my computer to stay on and just shut off my monitor.

Thank you so much! I've been searching everywhere and wasn't able to find a concrete answer. That just makes AppleCare even more of a no-brainer!
I'm in the same boat - the nearest Apple Store is over an hour away. Luckily we have two stores near here - Mactown and MacDepot. You don't even have to call Apple first - you can just take it in. A friend of mine near here had her power adapter fry her Macsafe board inside her Macbook. Took it to Mactown, and the next day the board and the adapter were both replaced no charge. Saw the repair invoice that they were billing Apple for and it was over $600. Definitely paid off. :D

Just to alleviate everyone's concerns, this issue is NOT present in the Panther preview. I tried setting a 9-character password, and the login window did not take the 8-character version.

Has anyone here chipped their Wii's yet ?
I'm thinking of getting mine chipped to save alot of money � and import my wii games from the USA.
It will also mean I'm not waiting months for the pal version to arrive. (Still no trauma centre)
I hoped Datel would have released a wii freeloader - but it's not looking likely according to folks over on the code-junkies forums.
Has anyone experience of this - and whats the general consensus ? too early ? too unreliable ?

So were getting wifi on nanos and classics! That sounds better than the radio feature. Maybe wireless syncing finally?
I don't think this wifi radio will happen on the ipods, your limited to the hotspots coverage, not so on-the-go. More useful for iphones that are always online.

The Lightscribe burners aren't out yet but I definitely have my cash set aside for one. They look like such a neat idea.
On topic, the LaCie's are pretty much made for the Mac so I'd recommend them as an external burner. Plus, the cases look really cool.
